Oncology and Kids
This capstone project aims to connect and educate both cancer families and cancer patients. We aim to create a platform where people can learn more about cancer on a biological level through interactive learning modules, as well as connect cancer patients through interactive multiplayer games. Rather than cancer websites having long strings of text, people of all ages will be able to easily navigate, learn, and play through these new and advanced modules.
We chose this project because we wanted to help kids with cancer feel more included in society. Many kids with cancer spend a lot of time in hospitals or away from school and their friends. We wanted to create a website where they can learn, have fun, and connect with other people who understand what they are going through. We also wanted to make something more interactive than a regular cancer website.
Official WebsiteOur team consists of Salma, Isha, Aashi, and Emily. Salma is our Scrum Master because she is a good leader and has experience helping organize projects and working with a team. Isha, Aashi, and Emily are our developers and coders. We will work together on building the website, creating interactive learning modules, and developing games and other features.

Official WebsiteConduct research and produce a risk calculator, where symptoms can be input. Not only will the type of cancer be identified, but your risk of mortality as well as the type of cancer you have/ link you to a doc for you to learn more about your type of cancer.
