Development Phases

From Contact-Tap Prototype to Contactless Presence

The hardest part of this project, antennas that reliably detect presence without a tap, is deliberately last. The build is staged so each phase produces something usable and testable on its own.

Phase 1 reflects the current working prototype. Phases 2 through 4 are the team's current draft roadmap toward the design described on the Technical Detail page, and are still being finalized with the team and mentors. Treat scope and timing as provisional, not committed.

Current, WorkingPhase 1: Contact-Tap Prototype

A CrowPi board, one scan pad, and a Flask + SQLite backend proving the core read-log-display loop.

DraftPhase 2: Classroom Pilot

A deck of RFID-stickered playing cards, one per student, plus a production backend and admin dashboard.

DraftPhase 3: UHF Doorway Transition

Contactless UHF reads at a single-door test rig, laptop-mounted tags, and the start of camera integration.

Draft, Most AdvancedPhase 4: Full Room-Scale Presence

Front and back door UHF detection, full RFID and camera correlation, and the complete presence-state machine.
